The ‘Fishtank’ - a cardboard box of essentials, given to all Nationwide mortgage holders on the day of moving into their new home. Home movers would then tweet a photo of the box. The result was a record high for engagement

This was a difficult brief for a building firm that specialised in producing high quality builds. The positioning of this brand was the easy bit. Creating the right, contemporary look was the difficult part.

HD Ready Eyesight. An integrated campaign for Varilux but endorsed by the Eye Health Alliance. This first ever online eye test channelled people, who showed symptoms of Presbyopia after a series of questions, to an independent Varilux varifocals optician

Prototype sportswear was created and then researched in London UK and Chicago USA. A wickable fabric made from a petroleum by-product. Similar fabrics would be Adidas’ Climacool and Nike Pro

Commissioned by an Art dealer friend for a small exhibition. I generated these screenprint like images on a DSLR.
I then manipulated them by creating paths in Photoshop before colouring them in Illustrator.

A five part charity mailing. This one generated double its projected return. 

Another disaster, another reason to ask for donations. A rapid response from Shelterbox. Supplying school boxes, so the education of young Syrian children, could continue

Ten years on from the Boxing day Tsunami, Shelterbox ran a commemorative mailing. Highlighting every disaster they had responded to since that founding, first appeal.

We started with its founding member ‘Nicol’ and translated her passion into something called Nicology

Nicology stands for growth and development. It enables young adults who need a little extra help, to do the things most of us take for granted. Nicology means, I do not put my students into boxes. Confinement stifles creativity

Working for smaller clients means having to also take responsibility for generating bespoke imagery. Here are a few photos I’ve selected from recent location shoots.

After conception and client collaboration, I created these ‘finished’ visuals using the Adobe creative suite.

In March 2019, at the age of 53 and a half, I travelled to Japan to train with some of the best Karate instructors in the world. I took the opportunity to compete in a competition while I was there too.

After a few days touring we got down to some serious training.

I trained alongside world class instructors from Japan, Austria, Germany, Australia, Hungary and Wales.

It was an incredible experience. We trained hard and I was versed in many valuable teaching tools.

My Bristol clubs have one hundred students who will all benefit from what I have learnt from this once in a lifetime experience.

Toby Hacker is a personal trainer and boxing coach. He uses his fighting knowledge and experience to get ordinary people fighting fit.
